NDP have not nominated a candidate in Don Valley West

Is this part of the NDP’s backroom deal to keep the Liberals in power?

Andrea Horwath’s NDP have yet to nominate a candidate in Don Valley West, the riding that Premier Kathleen Wynne is in a tough fight for this election. The deadline for nominating candidates is this Thursday, May 17, 2018.

This weekend, we learned about the potential of a backroom deal from the NDP and the Liberals to continue to prop up Kathleen Wynne and keep her in power through a coalition.

Kathleen Wynne’s Liberals and Andrea Horwath’s NDP aren’t much different. They both want to plunge Ontario into years of billions of dollar deficits. They both want to continue with an expensive cap-and-trade carbon tax scheme that kills jobs and makes life harder for Ontario families. They both want to hike taxes on Ontario families.

Are Andrea Horwath and the NDP intentionally not running a candidate in Don Valley West as a part of their backroom deal with Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals, or are they just having a hard-time recruiting candidates?
